Jim LoPresti has been tattooing since 1996. He began tattooing in Bridgeport, Ct - his hometown - and opened Lucky Soul in 2001, first in Ansonia then moving the shop to Woodbridge in 2011.

Jim is known as one of the friendliest and kindest tattoo artists around - and not just locally, he is also known far outside of Connecticut for his kind and compassionate nature, as well as his incredible tattoos, which had been showcased in many tattoo magazines long before social media was a thing.

Jim works in black and gray, primarily realism, and he enjoys tattooing wildlife, pet portraits, and anything with skulls. In 2020, Jim decided to focus his tattoo work in these areas only. Honestly, it can be hard to nail Jim down for a tattoo appointment these days, but luckily he has an incredible crew of talent to provide you with the tattoo you’re looking for, so if he is unable to take on your piece he can recommend someone right here at LST who can.

Jim also takes commission work for charcoal and wood burned pet portraits.

The COVID times were particularly difficult for Jim. Following a bout with the illness, he underwent open heart surgery to repair his mitral valve. After a long and arduous period of healing, Jim is now doing great and is focusing more time on his other life passions - caring for his amazing daughter, and playing music - particularly the handpan.
